Bridg-it never sells or gives your personal information to any third-party, and it never uses personal information for any commercial purpose. Your personal information is only used to contact you with information about Bridg-it, for customer service assistance, or to help your school resolve a problem that you report through the Bridg-it system.
Unless you or your parents request otherwise, accounts are generally deleted when you turn 18 or graduate from high school, whichever comes first.
If you transfer to a school that participates in the Bridg-it System, everything will stay the same. If your new school does not participate in the Bridg-it System, your account will be deleted.
Removing all personally identifiable information from the data.
Initially, only the school officer responsible for handling harassment or bullying issues will see the report. They may use some of the facts you report to help resolve the problem or in extreme cases, contact law enforcement if someone is in physical danger of a genuine threat.
Filing only honest reports is a condition of using the Bridg-it System, and people who knowingly file false claims for malicious purposes can face legal consequences. Filing is also confidential, not anonymous, so the filing party is known to the administrator and is therefore accountable.
Bridg-it will not supply any personal information without either your parent’s written permission, or in extreme cases, a Court Order.
In extreme cases, someone could go to court and ask a judge to enforce a subpoena, demanding that Bridg-it disclose the information. Before doing that, we would notify you and your parents so that you have to opportunity to seek legal counsel and challenge the demand.
